The small print

Your privacy, in plain words.

“I read the small print so you don’t have to. You still can, and it’s short.” Murphee

The short version

  • This website sets no cookies and shows no adverts.
  • We count visits with our own privacy-friendly analytics. It does not identify you.
  • The “Ask Murphee” guide runs in your browser. Your questions are not sent to us or stored.
  • If you email us, we keep your message so we can reply. We do not sell or share it.
  • Each product has its own privacy information, which applies when you use that product.

Who we are

This website is run by Murphee Limited, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 15920043. For data protection law we are the controller of the personal information described on this page.

You can reach us about anything on this page at hello@murphee.one.

What this page covers

This notice covers the website at www.murphee.one. It does not cover the products themselves. Pebbles, Immerso Gnosis, Steve and Enzo each handle different information for different people, so each has its own privacy information, given to you before you start using it. If you have a question about a product’s privacy before then, email us.

What we collect on this website

What Why How long
Visit statistics. Page viewed, referring site, browser type, device type and country. No cookies, no advertising identifiers and no cross-site tracking. To understand which pages are useful and to keep the site working. 14 months, then deleted or kept only as totals.
Server logs. IP address, time, the page requested and the browser’s user-agent string. Security, fault-finding and protecting the site from abuse. Up to 90 days.
Emails you send us. Your name, email address and whatever you choose to tell us. To reply and to follow up on your enquiry. 2 years after our last contact. If you become a customer, records of our dealings are kept for 6 years after the relationship ends, in line with UK limitation periods.

Analytics

We use Umami, an open-source analytics tool that we host ourselves at analytics.murphee.one. It does not use cookies, does not build a profile of you and does not pass data to advertising networks. The figures we see are totals, not individuals.

The “Ask Murphee” guide

The guide on the home page answers from the product information already on the page. It runs in your browser. Your questions are not sent to our servers and are not saved once you leave or reload the page.

If we later switch on AI-written answers, the guide will say “Murphee AI” instead of “Product guide”. Questions would then be sent to a service we operate so it can write a reply. We will update this page before that happens.

Fonts and other files

Fonts, images and scripts are served from our own servers. We do not load them from third-party content networks, so visiting this site does not tell those networks you were here.

We are a UK company, so the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018 apply to how we handle personal information. We rely on:

  • Legitimate interests to run, secure and improve this website, and to reply to people who contact us. We have weighed these against your rights and keep what we collect to a minimum.
  • Steps before a contract when you ask about becoming a customer.
  • Legal obligation where the law requires us to keep or disclose a record.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We use a small number of suppliers to run the business:

  • Email: Microsoft 365 hosts our mailboxes, so emails you send us are stored with Microsoft on our behalf.
  • Hosting: our hosting is with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Ireland. Until that move is complete, this website runs on servers we operate in the United Kingdom.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our users or the public.

Where information is stored

Information is stored in the United Kingdom and the European Union. The UK recognises the EU as providing adequate protection for personal information, so it keeps the same standard of protection in either place.

If a supplier ever needs to process information outside the UK and the EU, we use a safeguard recognised under UK law, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses.

Children

This website is written for adults: parents, professionals and business owners. It does not ask children for information. Where one of our products is made for children, it is set up and supervised by a parent or carer, and its own privacy information explains how children’s data is protected. See Safety & scope.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct it or delete it;
  • object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict that use;
  • ask for it in a portable format.

Email hello@murphee.one and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to your data protection regulator. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner’s Office, at ico.org.uk.

If something is unclear or missing

This page is meant to cover everything the website does with personal information. If you think we have missed something, or a part of it is unclear, email hello@murphee.one and we will answer and fix the page. Nothing here limits the rights the law gives you; where this page and the law differ, the law applies. We will not start using your information in a new way without updating this page first.

Changes to this page

We will update this page when the website changes what it collects. The date at the top shows the latest version. Significant changes will be noted here for at least 30 days.
